Italian government cuts incentives for renewables

The Italian governement has released draft decrees to cut incentives for power generation using renewable energy, including biomass, in an effort to limit overall outlay on energy generation subsides to €12bn/yr ($15.7bn/yr)bu 2020 as production increases, it said last week. The government’s current spend on these incentives is €9bn/yr.
